The regulation of the iolRS operon. The operon is inhibited by iolR (HTH-type transcriptional regulator) and activated by the presence of inositol. Glucose can also contribute to the inhibition of the operon. The operon has two products: iolR and iolS (Aldo-keto reductase). The function of iolS is unknown.
